Key US indices closed on lower note

Key US indices closed on a lower note on 11 Jan 2024, Thursday due to reports of inflation exceeding expectations and indications of a robust labor market, diminishing prospects for early interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve this year. However, a decline in Treasury yields mitigated the extent of the losses.   The Nasdaq Composite index and the S&P 500 both declined 0.1 percent while the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended flat.
