IOA to meet CGF officials today

Sports Minister asks IOA to ensure high standard overnance in NSFs

Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said, India's rise as a global leader will be complete if the country becomes a sporting power. India announces 524 athletes for Asian Games

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) today announced a 524-member contingent of athletes for the Asian Games in Indonesia beginning from 18th of August.   The contingent comprises 277 men and 247 women athletes.   Athletics will have the highest number of representation with 52 eyeing for medals. The IOA has decided against sending the men and women football teams this time as they are ineligible under the existing criteria set by the Olympic body.

IOA congratulates medal winners

The Indian Olympic Association, IOA, today expressed happiness at the strong performance of the country's contingent on the opening day of competitions in the Commonwealth Games. It said the medal count will only go up in the coming days. India, one of the powerhouses of the Commonwealth Games, is being represented by 218 athletes this time.  The country had won 64 medals (15 gold, 30 silver, 19 bronze) in the 2014 Glasgow CWG.
