Women’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier: India defeats Malaysia 7-2

The Indian women’s hockey team started their campaign at the Women’s Asian Hockey World Cup Qualifier with a 7-2 win against Malaysia on Friday in Oman. At the end of the first half, India were leading Malaysia by 3-2.   For India, captain Navjot Kaur and Monika Dipi Toppo scored two goals each, while Akshata Dhekale, Mariana Kujur, Mahima Choudhary one each.   Wan Wan and Aziz Zafirah scored for Malaysia.   India will next take on Japan tomorrow.

Indian women's Hockey team hold Australia to 2-2 draw

Indian women's hockey team held  Australia  to a 2-2 draw in Olympic Test Event in Tokyo today. India is ranked 10th in world ranking while Australia is world number 2 side. Vandana Katariya scored for India in the 36th minute while Gurjit Kaur struck in the 59th minute. South Korea defeat Indian women's hockey team 4-0

Hosts South Korea defeated Indian women's hockey team 4-0 in the inconsequential third and final match of the rubber in Jincheon, Korea today. India had earlier registered back-to-back wins over Korea in the first two games to pocket the series 2-1.

Indian women's hockey team beat Malaysia, win series 4-0

The Indian women's hockey team beat Malaysia by a solitary goal to complete a 4-0 win in the five-match bilateral series in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday. It was Navjot Kaur's fine field goal in the 35th minute and a good defensive display that helped India win. The team will return from its successful campaign on Friday.

Indian women's hockey team beat Spain 5-2 in 3rd match

The Indian women's Hockey team put up a spirited display to stun World Cup bronze medallists Spain 5-2 in the third international hockey match of the four match series in Murcia on Tuesday. By virtue of this win, India  managed to level the series 1-1 in the second game, after having lost the tour opening match 2-3. India will play its fourth and final match against Spain tomorrow.

India women edge South Korea 3-2

The Indian women's hockey team has defeated South Korea 3-2 in an absorbing contest to grab a 2-0 lead in the five-match series, in Incheon today. The South Koreans came from behind twice in the match but India had the last laugh by keeping their nerve. Goals for India were scored by Poonam Rani, skipper Rani and Gurjit Kaur while Yurim Lee and Jungeun Seo scored for the hosts.  India will play their third match of the five-match series against South Korea on March 8.
