Indian rupee closes at 83.34 against US dollar

In the forex market, the Indian rupee closed at 83 rupees and 34 paise against the US dollar. The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was down 0.34 percent to trade at 103.62 in intra-day trade.
