Indian football team will bounce back strongly after loss against UAE: India goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu

India goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu has said that the Indian football team will bounce back strongly after the loss against UAE and will be ready for the joint qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup in June.  India lost to UAE 0-6 in the friendly fixture on Monday. Before the loss, the Indian team played well and registered a 1-1 draw against the higher-ranked Oman.

India defeat Thailand 1-0 in King's Cup tournament; finish third

Indian football team defeated hosts Thailand 1-0 and finished third in the King's Cup tournament in Buriram, Thailand today. This is India's second win over Thailand this year, having beaten the War Elephants in a group match of the AFC Asian Cup in the UAE in January.

Croatian World Cupper Igor Stimac appointed Indian football team coach

Croatian World Cupper Igor Stimac has been appointed Indian football team head coach for a two-year term. The national team has been without a coach since the departure of Stephen Constantine in January, following the creditable show at the AFC Asian Cup.  The appointment was made by the All India Football Federation's Executive Committee today.
