Gold, Silver prices slide in Delhi
Gold prices fell by Rs. 42 to Rs. 48,964 per 10 gram in the national capital. Silver prices also declined by Rs. 1,217 to Rs. 49,060 per kg.

Gold prices today moved up by 130 rupees to 38,690 rupees per 10 gram in the national capital, in line with the global trend. Silver also jumped 900 rupees to 47,990 rupees per kilogram. In the international market, gold prices were trading higher at 1,518 US dollars an ounce in New York, while silver was also quoting with gains at 17 dollars and 87 cents per ounce.

Gold prices today dropped 50 rupees to 35,720 rupees per 10 gram in the national capital, owing to sluggish demand from jewellers. Silver also ended lower by 100 rupees to 41,900 rupees per kg due to reduced offtake by industrial units and coin makers. Globally, spot gold traded flat at 1,419 US dollars and 40 cents an ounce, while silver was marginally trading lower at 16 dollars and 44 cents an ounce in New York.

Nikhat Zareen and Meena Kumari Devi became the first Indian women boxers to win gold medals at the Strandja Memorial Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria on Tuesday. Gold prices on Thursday rose by Rs 150 to close at Rs 32,000 per 10 gm at the bullion market in the national capital, following a firm trend overseas amid fresh buying by local jewellers. Silver, on the other hand, fell by Rs 130 to close at Rs 37,750 per kg, owing to slackened demand from coin makers and industrial units. Gold fell 65 rupees, to 31,475 rupees per ten grams at Delhi's bullion market today. Traders said appreciating rupee as well as weak demand in the overseas market led to a slide in gold prices. Fall in demand from jewelers as well as retailers kept pressure on the prices. Silver lost 85 rupees, to 37,075 rupees per kilo on weak demand from industrial units and coin makers. Silver coins ended flat, at 72,000 rupees for buying 100 pieces.

Gold prices declined by 90 rupees to 31,950 rupees per 10 gram at the bullion market today due to weak global trend and fading demand from local jewellers. Silver too declined by 200 rupees to 37,800 rupees per kg due to reduced off take by industrial units and coin makers. Globally, gold prices fell 0.29 per cent to 1,224 US dollars 20 cents an ounce and silver too fell by 1.28 per cent to 14 dollars 38 cents an ounce in Singapore.
