Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has emphasised on digital capability upgradation of Regional Rural Banks. Chairing the review meeting of the Rural Banks of Northern Region in New Delhi, Ms Sitharaman also instructed Punjab National Bank to ensure that all such banks with them acquire digital onboarding capability by first of November this year. The Minister urged the Regional Rural Banks to remove duplication of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana accounts.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today said, the Public Sector Banks have disbursed 16 thousand 31 crore rupees to the States and Union Territories so far. She said, PSBs have sanctioned loans worth 32 thousand 49 crore rupees under the 100 per cent Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme.
