Finance Ministry says over 5 crore 89 lakh ITRs filed on new e-filing portal till Dec 31

Finance Ministry today said that nearly five crore 89 lakh Income Tax Returns have been filed on the new e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department as on 31st December 2021. The Ministry said, more than 46 lakh ITRs were filed on 31st December last year. In order to assist taxpayers with a smooth experience on the portal, around 17 thousand taxpayer calls and one thousand 467 chats were responded by the helpdesk.
