Domestic benchmark indices witness gains of more than one percent in afternoon trade

Domestic benchmark indices witnessed gains of more than one percent in the afternoon trade. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange surged 710 points, or 1.16 percent, to trade at 61,765. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange advanced 195 points, or 1.06 percent, to trade at 18,271.
