India's Dipa Karmakar has made it to the Vault Finals after finishing third in the qualifying round of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup at Baku in Azerbaijan. The 25-year-old, who had finished fourth in the event at the 2016 Rio Olympics, performed a higher difficulty Handfront 540 vault yesterday for the first time in the competition. Dipa Karmakar clinches gold medal at Gymnastics World Cup

India's premier gymnast Dipa Karmakar clinched a gold medal in the vault event of FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup at Mersin in Turkey on Sunday.  She returned to action after nearly two years of  lay-off due to injury.  The 24-year-old from Tripura, Dipa Karmakar scored 14.150 to win gold on Sunday.  This is Dipa's first medal in a World Challenge Cup.
