China Open: Kento Momota beats Tien Chen to win 10th title of 2019

Kento Momota won his 10th title as Japan's world number one defeated Taiwan's world number two Tien-chen to retain his Fuzhou China Open Badminton crown on Sunday. Momota battled past Chou 21-15, 17-21, 21-18 at Fuzhou.  Home hope Chen Yufei similarly successfully defended the women's title with a victory over Japan's Nozomi Okuhara. China Open: Jeev shows some sparks; Khalin best placed Indian

Former China Open champion Jeev Milkha Singh seems to have turned the clock for a while as he is three-under through 16 holes in the first round of the 25th China Open. However, he then double bogeyed the 18th to finish one-under 71 and was tied-69th at the end of the first day.   Meanwhile, the best Indian on day one was Khalin Joshi, who had a great start at three-under through first five holes. He also ended at three-under despite three bogeys after that.

China Open Masters Badminton tournament will begin today in Fuzhou

The China Open Masters Badminton tournament will begin today in Fuzhou. The tournament will continue upto 11th of this month. The star shuttlers, Kidambi Srikanth and P.V. Sindhu will lead the Indian contingent.  The Olympic and two-time World Championship silver medallist Sindhu will be looking for her first title of the year after a total of five final losses in 2018. She will be up against Evgeniya Kosetskaya of Russia.

China Open: Indonesia's Sinisuka stuns Japan's Kento Momota to win Men's singles title

In Badminton, Indonesia's Anthony Sinisuka Ginting  beat Japan's Kento Momota to take the Men's singles China Open title in Changzhou today.  Spain's Carolina Marin beat China's Chen Yufei 21-18, 21-13  to take the women's singles title. The third seed, Momota who took the Japan Open title on home ground last week, was beaten by world number 13 Ginting 23-21, 21-19.
