India's retail inflation rises to 7% in August as compared to 6.71% in July

Retail inflation, based on the consumer price index (CPI), rose to seven per cent in August this year compared to 6.71 per cent in preceding month. As per the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation data released on Monday, inflation climbed mainly due to rise in prices of "Food & Beverages".
