India clinches seven medals in women's wrestling Asian Championship titles

Olympics-bound Indian wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Anshu Malik clinched their maiden Asian Championship titles yesterday at Almaty, Kazakhstan as India ended with seven medals from the women's event with four gold. The event marred by the absence of countries China and Japan due to COVID-19, India also bagged one silver and two bronze medals.

Vinesh Phogat bags silver at Asian Wrestling C'ships

India's star wrestler Vinesh Phogat has settled for Silver Medal in the 50kg Freestyle competition at the Asian Wrestling Championship in Kyrgyzstan.  In the final of the event at Bishkek, yesterday, the Indian lost to China's Chun Lei. Another Indian, Sangeeta claimed Bronze in 59kg division.   Along with these two medals, India's medal tally has reached four in the ongoing championships.
