Deepika wins gold, Ankita bags silver in Asian archery Championships

Indian archers Deepika Kumari won gold while Ankita Bhakat bagged silver medal in the women's individual recurve event of the 21st Asian Championships in Bangkok. Deepika defeated Ankita 6-0 in the one-sided final. The duo had earlier secured an individual Olympic quota for the country by storming into the semifinals of the event. Earlier in the last-four stage, Ankita got the better of Bhutan's Karma while Deepika defeated Nguyet Do Thi Anh of Vietnam.

India finish with three gold, two bronze in Asian Archery

Indian junior archers bagged three gold and two bronze medals to finish their Asia Cup Archery Stage 1 campaign on a high in Bangkok today.    On the final day, Promila Daimary won second individual gold medal for India as she defeated Natalia Erdynieva of Russia 7-3  in the women's recurve individual.   Indian trio of Akash, Gora Ho and Gaurav Lambe defeated Mongolian rivals  27-26 in the tie-breaker to clinch the third gold.  Madhu Vedwan beat Altangerel Enkhtuya of Mangolia 6-5 in th...
