Steve Smith returns to Australian team for 4th Ashes cricket test against England

Steve Smith returns to the Australian team while top-order batsman Usman Khawaja and pace bowler James Pattinson have been dropped for the fourth Ashes cricket test against England beginning on Wednesday at Old Trafford in Manchester.  Smith did not play in the third test at Leeds due to a concussion sustained from a bouncer which hit his helmet in the drawn second test at Lord's. The series is level 1-1 with two tests remaining.

Ashes Cricket test: Australia all out at 284 runs against England

Australia were all out at 284 runs against England on the opening day of the first Ashes Cricket test of five-match series at Edgbaston, Birmingham yesterday.  In reply, England in their 1st Innings were 10 without any loss with Rory Burns and Jason Roy were at the crease on the end of the 1st-day play. The five-match Test series between the two arch-rivals also marks the beginning of the World Test Championship - a new, two-year, competition introduced by the ICC.
