Rupee settles 18 paise higher at 74.84 against US dollar

The rupee today settled 18 paise higher at 74 rupees and 84 paise against the US dollar as heavy buying in domestic equities strengthened investor sentiments.   Forex traders said a positive trend in the equity markets and easing crude oil prices supported the rupee. The dollar index, which shows strength of the US currency against a basket of six currencies, rose 0.17 per cent to 92.95.

Rupee depreciates nine paise to settle at Rs 75.02 against dollar

Forex traders said, while foreign fund inflows supported the rupee, factors like strong dollar, volatile domestic equities and rising COVID-19 cases dragged the local unit down.

Rupee appreciates 17 paise to close at Rs 76.03 against dollar

The rupee today appreciated 17 paise to close at 76 rupees and three paise against the US dollar in line with positive equity markets amid sustained foreign fund inflows. Forex dealers said, besides, a weak US dollar against major global currencies also aided the rupee's upward movement.
