Table tennis team head coach suspended over gambling debt: official

An Olympic gold medalist has been suspended as coach of the Chinese women's table tennis team following reports that he is facing a lawsuit over gambling debts. China's table tennis association announced today that it had ordered Kong Linghui to immediately return from the World Table Tennis Championships in Germany to help in its investigation. China strictly prohibits its officials from gambling. Hong Kong media reported yesterday that Kong is involved in a lawsuit involving more than 320,000 US dollars.
