A passenger plane with 40 people on board has crashed near Mehrabad airport in Teheran. Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported that the plane which belongs to Taban Airlines was flying to Tabas from Teheran and it crashed shortly after take-off this morning.

Details are awaited. The Meherabad airport is in the west of Teheran and is primarily used for domestic operations.
