Both the matches scheduled on Friday were washed out in the ICC T20 World Cup. The much-hyped clash between Australia and England at Melbourne was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.

It was the second match of the day, after Ireland versus Afghanistan, to be washed out at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and means all four sides will take a point each in their hunt for a place in the semi-finals.
