In another Super Eight match at the same venue, Sri Lanka beat West Indies by 57 runs in the Group F Super Eight stage match. Chasing a winning target of 195, West Indies could made 138 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Dwayne Bravo made 23 and Ramnaresh Sarwan scored 28 runs. Lasith Malinga and Ajantha Mendis shared 3 wickets each.Earlier put in to bat, Sri Lanka made 194 for three in stipulated 20 overs. Mahela Jayawardene hammered an unbeaten 56-ball 98 and Sangakkara also blasted a 49-ball 68. Kemar Roach claimed 2 wickets while Dwayne Bravo took one wickets.
