T-20 Cricket: India take on England in the first of two-match series in Pune

In cricket, the first Twenty-20 international of the 2-match series between India and England will be played at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune today. The match will begin at 7 PM. Hosts India, who had endured a Test series defeat at the hands of England recently, will look to gain some much needed momentum in this series, ahead of Pakistan's tour of India, which begins on the 25th of this month. Our correspondent reports that the battered Team India will look to regain some lost pride today, when they take on an entirely different looking England in the first T-20 at Pune. The architects of their Test series win have already flown back to England and this young English team will be led by Eoin Morgan. The services of Fire Bladesman Virender Sehwag will be missed by the home side doubtlessly. But T-20 specialists like Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma must pull themselves up from their bootstraps in order to give their side that much needed push ahead of the upcoming Pakistan's tour to India. India's recent worry has been the bowling department and with Zaheer Khan unavailable, it will be interesting to see who will be the playing eleven. Both, India and England have met five times in T-20s, with England winning three. After suffering a crushing defeat in the recently concluded Test series, Dhoni and his boys must now arrest the slide and switch gears for this shortest format of the game, which is sure to be full of excitement. All India Radio will broadcast live commentary alternately in Hindi and English on the match. The commentary can be heard on AIR Delhi and FM Gold channels from 6.30 PM onwards.
