Agency reports quoting unnamed opposition leaders say that large number of Syrians have organised demonstrations in urban centers on friday in favour of their demand of political reforms. Reports say that demonstrations were organised in one Damascus suburb, the central city of Homs and the coastal town of Banias despite heavy army and security forces deployment. Earlier, Syrian Ministry of the Interior called upon the citizens to refrain from engaging in any rallies or demonstrations or sit-ins and contribute to the stability and security in the current circumstances. According to Syria’s official news agency Sana, the Ministry has said that demonstrations can be held only after the formal approval of the authorities.
