Syrian troops and tanks have entered two more towns-Khan Sheikhun and Maarat al-Numan-in the north of the country as the military campaign against dissents continues. Wide-spread anti-government protests are expected again later today after Friday prayers. Last week, around 40 demonstrators were shot dead in various places. Activists say security measures have been tightened in the country's third city, Homs, in anticipation of protests there.
