Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has arrived in Istanbul for talks on regional issues. The semi-official Anatolia news agency said the Syrian president, accompanied by Foreign Minister Walid Mualem is set to meet with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Erdogan earlier said his meeting with President al-Assad is important and will contribute to strengthening fraternal relations between both the countries.
