In Syria, Ministry of the Interior has calls upon the citizens to refrain from engaging in any rallies or demonstrations or sit-ins and contribute to the stability and security in the current circumstances. According to Syria’s official news agency Sana, the ministry has said that demonstration can be held only after the formal approval. Meanwhile, agency reports quoting activists and witnesses say that crackdown by Syrian security forces is undergoing in Dara where demonstrations were reported recently. Reports also say that several people were killed during this. UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, B. Lynn Pascoe has said that Syrian forces are firing at unarmed civilians, preventing medical personnel from helping the wounded, raiding mosques and arresting many others. Meanwhile, Syrian state television has broadcasted confessions of alleged extremist terrorist group members, admitting their involvement in criminal acts.
