Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said that synergy and cooperation between institutions needed to counter India's Public Health challenges.  <br />''<br />''Presiding over the 43rd Annual Day of the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) in New Delhi, the Minister said, there is huge potential in our institutions but only some of them are utilising their full potential.<br />''<br />''He said it is the right time for everyone to put efforts into micro-diagnosis, such as a final push for reduction in Maternal and Infant Mortality Rates.<br />''<br />''The Minister said, to achieve the objective, fine-tuning of the strategy, as well as rethinking of the policies, are needed. He said, a new approach needs to be taken and Research and Training organisations and public health institutions have to take a lead role.<br />''<br />''Dr Vardhan said it is because of the strength of active community surveillance that the Government has been able to do effective contact tracing of cases of COVID-19 in India. He said public health is being strengthened through Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centres.<br />''<br />''The Minister said, with the dual burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases, there is a need for enhanced focus on preventive health and it has been prioritized in the National Health Policy 2017.<br />''<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">On the occasion, Dr. Harsh Vardhan also presented the academic awards. </span><br />
