In the ongoing Syed Modi International India Grand Prix Gold Badminton Championship in Lucknow, an unseeded Indian shuttler Pratul Joshi today defeated former world number one, Indonesian Taufiq Hidayat in straight sets of 21-17 and 21-12 in men's single. In another men's single match, Ajay Jayram of India defeated Russian Nikita Khakimov in straight sets by 21-15 and 21-13.While Olympic bronze-medallist of India Saina Nehwal gave a walkover to Russian K.Polikarpova after clinching first set by 21-17 in women's single match. Due to some knee problem Saina gave away the game. The Indian P Kashyap, second seed in the tournament, defeated Korean Ha Young Woong by 21-18,21-09.
