In Badminton, two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy progressed to the quarterfinals of Syed Modi International tournament in Lucknow.

Top seed Sindhu got the better of American Lauren Lam in her second-round match of Women's Singles while fifth seed Prannoy defeated compatriot Priyanshu Rajawat in Men's Singles at BBD Indoor Stadium.

Sindhu will take on sixth-seeded Thai shuttler Supanida Katethong in the last-eight stage. Prannoy will clash with France's Arnaud Merkle in the quarterfinals.
