In Jammu & Kashmir, authorities suspended Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani's passport. Regional Passport Officer Firdous Iqbal told AIR that Geelani's passport was suspended for a period of four weeks. Geelani was informed about the decision through an e-mail. <br/><br/>Sources said Geelani had almost fulfilled the formalities of a visa to visit New York to attend OIC meeting. Geelani was issued an eight month passport in the month of July this year with validity till March 2016.
