Olympian and top seed Saina Nehwal has advanced to the quarter finals of the Swiss Open Badminton tournament in Basel.Saina will take on Bulgaria's Petya Nedelcheva today. Saina defeated Sashina Vignes Waran of France 13-21, 21-15, 21-12 in the Women's Singles opening round match.In the same category, PV Sindhu will take on Japan's Yui Hashimoto.Sindhu defeated Ji Hyun Sung of Chinese Taipei.Ffifth seed P. Kashyap and HS Prannoy entered the Men's Singles pre-quarterfinals. Kahsyap will shuttle it out against Malaysia's Wei Feng Chong. He defeated German Dieter Domke in the second round 21-15, 20-22, 13-21, while HS Prannoy will face Chinese Taipei's 15th seed Tien Chen Chou for a place in the quarterfinals today. He beat seventh seed Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand, 18-21, 21-13, 21-12.In the Men's Doubles quarter finals, the Indian duo of Akshay Dewalkar and Pranaav Jerry Chopra will slug it out against the top seeded Korean pair of Sung Hyun Ko and Yong Dae Lee today.
