Swiss couple attacked in Agra: Sushma Swaraj seeks report from UP govt

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has sought a report from the Uttar Pradesh government over an attack on a young Swiss couple by a group of young men in Fatehpur Sikri on the outskirts of Agra. <br/><br/>The Ministry officials today visited Apollo Hospital in New Delhi where the victims are admitted. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, Tourism Minister K J Alphons has also written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressing his concern over the incident. <br/><br/>According to a report, a couple from Lausanne in Switzerland was chased and attacked by a group of young men on Sunday.<br/><br/>The External Affairs Minister said that Joint Secretary in the Ministry, S Bhattacharjee and Indian Ambassador-designate to Switzerland C B George today met the Swiss nationals. She said, Quentin Jeremy Clerc and Ms. Marie Droz were admitted to the hospital this morning. <br/><br/>She said, Ms. Droz has been discharged and Mr Clerc is improving. The Ministry is monitoring the progress of his medical condition.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Tourism Minister K J Alphons has also written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressing his concern over the incident. <br/><br/>According to the report, a couple from Lausanne in Switzerland was chased and attacked by a group of youths on Sunday.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested three persons. <br/><br/>An FIR has been registered against four unknown people in this connection. <br/><br/>Additional Director General of Police Crime Chandra Prakash told media persons at Lucknow that efforts are on to nab others.<br/><br/>Earlier today Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while talking to media persons in Agra, had said that his government will develop a Tourist Police Force to provide security to the tourists visiting the state. <br/><br/>The Swiss pair has alleged that they were followed by a group of people near the railway station. Later, the group started passing comments at them and also forced the couple to stop and take selfies. <br/><br/>The group's harassment soon turned violent and attacked them causing severe injuries.
