Swift action being taken to control Kishtwar communal violence: J&K govt to SC

The Jammu and Kashmir government has informed the Supreme Court that swift action is being taken to control communal violence in Kishtwar.

The state chief secretary in his affidavit filed in the Supreme Court today has also stated that army and para military forces were called in to control the situation and possible efforts were made to bring back normalcy in the state.

The affidavit further says that 5 lakh rupees shall be paid to families of those killed in the violence, 2 lakh to those injured and to those whose property was damaged during riots.
