The Education Ministry today said under the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 it has fixed a target of 50 per cent Gross Enrolment Ratio in Higher Education by 2035.<br />''  <br />'' In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Education Dr. Subhash Sarkar informed that to achieve this significant target various steps are being taken like new regulations for open and distance learning programmes and online learning programmes to augment the accessibility of Higher Education.<br />''  <br />'' The Minister further said, the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) based SWAYAM portal has been launched to reach out to people and allow them to secure good quality education.
