Swaraj meets Lavrov; raises issues of Indian students, businessman deaths

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today met her Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow and raised the issue of the killing of Yasir Javed, a businessman from Srinagar. She enquired about the progress of investigation into the case. Yasir died in Russia's Kazan city last month following an attack on him by unknown local miscreants. Mrs Swaraj told Lavrov that at least the guilty must be punished after the probe.

The External Affairs Minister also raised the issue of the death of two Indian girl students, who were killed in a fire at a medical university in western Russia.
