Swaraj calls on King of Bhutan Wangchuck in New Delhi

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today called on King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck in New Delhi. Mr Wangchuck arrived in New Delhi yesterday on a four day visit to India. He was accompanied by his wife, Queen Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck. <br/><br/>King of Bhutan will also meet with President Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Finance Ministers Arun Jaitley will also call on the visiting King.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports India and Bhutan enjoy unique ties of friendship, which are characterized by deep understanding and mutual trust. The visit is in keeping with the long standing tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries. <br/><br/>The visit would provide an opportunity to both the sides for reviewing the entire gamut of bilateral cooperation. The golden jubilee of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries will be celebrated next year.
