In the ongoing Junior Athletics Championships at Bangalore, West Bengal's Swapnam Burman created a National Record in the High Jump event. She jumped 1.7 meters to create National record in under 18 girls section. Kerala's M N Naseemudin has qualified for next year's World Championship as he timed 14.24 seconds in 110 meter hurdle. Karnatka's Shashidar Harshit in high jump has bagged a gold medal in boy's under 20. In the second day of the Championship Kerala is leading with 167 points.
