Well known Agricultural Scientist M.S. Swaminathan has emphasised the need for better rumunerative prices, good seeds and technical know how for improving growth in the farm sector.<br/><br/>Speaking at the global Summit on Green Revolution II in New Delhi, Mr. Swaminathan said that drastic steps are required in this direction. Mr. Abhijit Sen, member Planning Commission said that the government will release a grant of six thousand crore rupees to 600 districts to train farmers in new technology to improve agriculture production. He expressed the hope that there will be gradual decline in the prices of essential commodities.<br/><br/>The opinion makers from home and abroad are deliberating on the issues related to food security and promoting agriculture growth at the meeting.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent says that the two day meeting is discussing the role of public private partnership in the investment in agriculture and sharing technologies and services to meet the challenges of food security. The impact of the climate change on agriculture is also being discussed among other related issues.
