Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has said that Swachh Bharat movement is all about sending a strong message to everyone on the need and importance of cleanliness. Speaking to the press in Colombo today, Sachin said that he was proud to be an ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiated by the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi. He added that he has recently recorded a powerful song for Swachh Bharat campaign which he hoped will help take the message of cleanliness to the grassroots.<br/> <br/> Sachin is in Sri Lanka as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for South Asia to spread the message of hygiene and sanitation. In his remarks he said that it is sad that 1600 children die every day due to diarrhea diseases which can easily be prevented by simple things like regular washing of hands. The batting maestro, along with Sri Lankan legend, Muttaiah Murlidharan met hundreds of school children in Colombo today and spoke to them about the importance of cleanliness.
