SW monsoon revive with vigour in most parts of the country

South west monsoon has revived with vigour in most parts of the country with heavy rainfall lashing many regions. In the southern India, after a lull of nearly two weeks, heavy rains lashed large parts of Karnataka and Kerela bringing down the mercury. In Tamil Nadu, people of Chennai have been experiencing pleasant weather for the past two days. After generally remaining overcast, the skies opened up in the evening, bringing cheer to the people. The monsoon has also been vigorous in east Uttar Pradesh andUttarakhand and active in Himachal Pradesh and Goa. Uttar Pradesh witnessed light to heavy rains in all divisions of the state in the last 24 hours. In Jammu and Kashmir, about a dozen houses were damaged due to strong winds and heavy hail storm in north Kashmir district of Bandipora. Fruit crops were also damaged due to hail storm. However, the Met office reports that monsoon activity has subdued over Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, west Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and some parts of Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh. Weathermen expect heavy rains to occur at many places in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya. The national capital is also likely to experience generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain and thundershowers. The mercury is likely to hover between 26 and 32 degrees.
