According to an official statement by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon has entered in some parts of Konkan, coastal Karnataka and Goa and is expected to hit Mumbai by June 13, three days later than normal. Several parts of state, including Mumbai did witnessed pre-monsoon showers today. <br/><br/>AIRR correspondent reports that the intermittent showers that hit Mumbai and rest of state caught people unaware in several districts of Marathwada and western Maharashtra, slightly affecting the normal life but mostly bringing relief after a sweltering summer this year. <br/><br/>The IMD has said that as things stand today, there is rapid advancement of monsoon and it will probably reach Mumbai by June 13-14.The conditions for a good monsoon seem to be favourable so far. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, Incessant rain witnessed in Sindudurg district of Konkan while heavy pre monsoon rainfall disrupted normal life in Nandurbar district this afternoon. Mercury continues to soar in Vidarbha region.
