Suu Kyi’s deputy urges ruling junta to initiate dialogue

Freed deputy of Aung San Suu Kyi's has urged Myanmar's ruling government to engage in dialogue with the opposition before elections this year. <br/><br/>Tin Oo, 83, the vice chairman of the National League for Democracy party, made the appeal following his release from house arrest late yesterday. The veteran activist said his own release means nothing if Nobel Peace laureate Suu Kyi, and around 2,100 other political prisoners are still detained when the elections take place.<br/>
