Science and Technology Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan today said sustainable industrial activities using local resources in the rural areas are important for inclusive development of the country. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi , Dr Harsh Vardhan said, the Ministry has established a Rural micro industry in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, which offers sustainable and inclusive development by converting waste to wealth. He said, the industry complex has been built in such a manner that it satisfies the local needs of utilization of local resources.<br/><br/>The Minster said, the industry offer farmers extraction of oil from caster seeds locally, use of ethylene for ripening of fruit and cold storage for preserving perishable items. Dr Harsh Vardhan said, it also offers a big opportunity to promote rural entrepreneurship, employment generation and wealth creation for large rural population with low carbon footprint and utilization of a variety of agricultural residues.
