Suspected militants stormed a prison in central Mali town Niono and freed at least 47 inmates today. The Ministry of Security said that 5 armed men attacked the jail and injured two guards. It was not immediately clear who was behind the attack but a number of militant groups have stepped up their insurgency in Mali this year. <br/><br/>The prison break was the second of its kind in recent weeks in Mali. Mali regained control of its northern cities from militants after a French-led international military intervention in January 2013.<br/>
