Suspected Maoists kill private contractor in Odisha

In Odisha, suspected Maoists have killed one private contractor in Baragarh district on Sunday. According to police, a group of Maoists gunned down a contractor who had gone to inspect a check dam near Badatunda village under Paikamala police limit of Baragarh district. Earlier, he was threatened to death twice by the red ultras for unknown reason. The Police launched search operation to nab the Maoists.In another incident, a member of a bomb disposal squad was killed, another critically injured and one more went missing, when a landmine they were trying to defuse exploded in Koraput district today in Odisha.According to Police, the team members had successfully defused one and were tying to neutralize the other landmine allegedly planted by Maoists, when it went off at Alampada.
