India and the US have firm belief that no country in the world should provide safe havens to terrorists. Addressing media with visiting US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in New Delhi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today said, countries which are supporting terrorism or using terrorism as an instrument should be held responsible. <br/><br/>Mrs Swaraj said, strategy of the US President Donald Trump can succeed only if Pakistan stops supporting terrorist organisations in that country and takes effective action against terror outfits without any discrimination. <br/>'<br/>The External Affairs Minister said the two sides also discussed situation in Afghanistan and expressed serious concern over growing terror incidents in that country. She said India has joined hands with Afghan government and the US to ensure peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan. <br/>'<br/>Mrs Swaraj said she and Mr Tillerson discussed security challenges in Indo-pacifc region and agreed that freedom of navigation, over flight and free trade should be given importance as per international law so that Indo-pacific region can become more independent. <br/>'<br/>The two sides also pitched for better innovation and discussed ways for improved ties between the two nations. <br/>'<br/>Replying to a media query, Mrs Swaraj said issue of North Korea was discussed. Asked whether India has reduced its trade ties with North Korea, Mrs Swaraj said, India's trade with that country is minimal. <br/><br/>On shutting Indian Embassy in North Korea, Mrs Swaraj said, India will continue to have its embassy there for communication and she and the US Secretary of State agreed on this. <br/>'<br/>On H1-B visa issue, Mrs Swaraj said the issue was discussed with Mr Tillerson and it was conveyed that nothing should be done which can hurt India's interest. She said, India is in talks with the US leadership and the administration over the issue. <br/>'<br/>Addressing the press, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said, US stands shoulder to shoulder with India in its fight against terrorism. He said, US supports India to see a stable Afghanistan. Mr Tillerson said, safe heavens to terrorists are not acceptable. <br/>'<br/>Asked whether he asked Pakistan to take strictest action against during his visit, the US Secretary said, he has conveyed to the Pakistani leadership that the US has expectations from Islamabad in this connection. He said, several terror groups find safe haven in Pakistan which is now threatening stability of the Pakistan government itself. <br/><br/>Responding to a media query, the US Secretary of State said US do not want harm Iranian people and supports modern voices there. He said, the US will not interfere in legitimate business activities between Iran and Europe and India. <br/><br/><br/>
