Foreign Minister Ms Sushma Swaraj met a cross section of top political leadership in Colombo on Saturday and assured them of India's continued support and engagement.<br/><br/>In her meeting with President Maithripala Sirisena, the progress of bilateral relations was reviewed.<br/><br/>Ms Swaraj appreciated Sri Lankan government endeavor to establish lasting peace in the country.<br/><br/>Briefing the media on the hour long meeting, Indian High Commissioner in Colombo, Mr Y K Sinha said that all facets of the relations were discussed by the two leaders.<br/><br/>Leaders of the Tamil National Alliance led by leader of Opposition in the Parliament, Mr R Sampanthan, called on Ms Swaraj and informed her of the political developments in the country.<br/><br/>Briefing the media after the meeting, Mr Sampanthan said that his delegation highlighted the immediate needs of the Tamil people and sought India's support in finding a political solution.<br/><br/>Later, Ms Swaraj met delegations of Sri Lanka Muslim Congress and Tamil Progressive Alliance.<br/>She also visited former President Chandrika Bhandaranayake Kumaratunga and held a wide ranging discussion on domestic and international issues.
