Sushma Swaraj finds support from Mulayam Singh Yadav on Lali Modi row

Samajwadi Party today came out in support of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj on Lalit Modi controversy and disassociated itself from the opposition demand of her resignation. Talking to media outside Parliament, party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav questioned why a woman is being targeted. He said one hundred wrongdoings are forgivable for a woman.

Another party leader, Naresh Agrawal also echoed same view saying his party never demanded resignation of Sushma Swaraj as she had only given recommendation for the British travel document for Lali Modi. He, however, said Samajwadi Party wants resignation of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in Lalit Modi scandal and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Vyapam scam for their alleged involvement in these issues.

Mr. Agrawal also dismissed the suggestion that Samajwadi Party's support for External Affairs Minister will weaken the opposition unity saying his party has its own agenda and policies and it does not follow others.
