The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Mrs. Sushma Swaraj visited Pullumedu area in Idukki district this morning where 102 Sabarimala pilgrims lost their lives in a stampede on last Friday. Speaking to media persons after visiting the spot, Ms. Sushma Swaraj criticised the State Government for not taking action on the report submitted by an enquiry commission earlier following a similar incident in the past. She said that what is required now is not a judicial enquiry but action on the part of the government. Ms. Sushma Swaraj demanded that Sabarimala should be declared a pilgrim centre of national importance.
