Sushma seeks report from Telangana govt over attack on Nigerian student

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today sought a report from the Telangana Government over reports of an attack on a Nigerian student in Hyderabad which comes close on the heels of the lynching of a Congolese national in New Delhi. External Affairs Ministry's spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted that ministry is monitoring the situation. <br/><br/>According to reports, the 23-year-old Nigerian national, Ghazeem, was attacked after an argument with a local Mohammad Ghafoor over parking. Ghazeem is a third year student of the Nizam College in Hyderabad. A case has been filed against Ghafoor. <br/><br/>After the killing of the Congolese student in the national capital this week, the External Affairs Ministry had come out with strong response. The ministry asked the Delhi Lieutenant Governor to take stringent measures to prevent such incidents and book the guilty. Earlier, the African Heads of Missions threatened to boycott the Africa day functions but eventually did not after the assurance from the Government.
