In Madhya Pradesh, the returning officer of Raisen district has served a notice to leader of opposition and BJP candidate Sushma Swaraj from Vidisha parliamentary segment and state forest minister Gaurishankar Shejwar regarding violation of model code of conduct.

Mrs. Swaraj has been asked to explain what she meant when she asked BJP workers to get voters at any cost on the polling day during a party meeting last month. The Congress had complained to the election commission in this regard. Mr. Shejwar was also present in the meeting.
